BSA Scrambler 650 Is Here - Top 5 Features You Should Know

Classic Legends has launched the BSA Scrambler 650 in India. It was introduced alongside the new Yezdi Scrambler 350, which is a smaller 350cc offering. The scrambler segment in India currently has very limited competition, and these new launches are expected to strengthen and expand the category further.

BSA Scrambler 650 Is Here - Top 5 Features

The BSA Scrambler 650 is already on sale in markets like the UK, and has now arrived in India as a direct alternative to Royal Enfield's 650cc motorcycles. Here are the top 5 features of the BSA Scrambler 650.

1. Dual-Purpose Capability

BSA has designed this motorcycle for both daily use and trail riding. Unlike the Goldstar, which follows a roadster design, the Scrambler 650 is built for both touring and off-road use. It features a large 19-inch front spoke wheel and a 17-inch rear spoke wheel, offering better control and confidence across all terrains.

The motorcycle comes equipped with 41 mm telescopic forks at the front and 5-step adjustable twin shock absorbers at the rear. It also gets premium tube tyres that perform well on highways as well as off-road trails, providing strong grip while enhancing its rugged and aggressive look.

2. Racing-Inspired Design

The BSA Scrambler 650 draws inspiration from its racing heritage, featuring a tall stance and a high-mounted front beak-style mudguard. It also gets a wide handlebar and an upswept exhaust, which improves ground clearance during off-road riding.

Additionally, the side panel features a "65" number badge highlighting its racing legacy, along with dual-tone colour options. The upright stance further enhances its authentic scrambler appeal.

3. Off-Road Tuned Engine

The motorcycle is powered by a 652cc single-cylinder DOHC engine, shared with the Goldstar 650 but tuned differently for improved low-end torque. It produces 45 hp at 6500 rpm and 55 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm, paired with a 5-speed gearbox. This engine setup delivers strong performance in city riding as well as while tackling uneven terrain or inclines.

4. Brembo-Powered Brakes

For the first time in this segment, the BSA Scrambler 650 comes equipped with Brembo brakes at both ends. The front features a 320 mm disc with a twin-piston floating Brembo caliper, while the rear gets a 255 mm disc with a single-piston Brembo caliper. It also comes with switchable dual-channel ABS, enhancing braking control during off-road riding.

5. Advanced Tech and Connectivity

The motorcycle gets a round LCD instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, call and SMS alerts, USB charging, and traction control. For lighting, it features a round LED headlamp and tail lamp, ensuring good visibility and illumination in all riding conditions.

Price and Verdict

The BSA Scrambler 650 is priced from ₹3.24 lakh (ex-showroom), which is competitively priced compared to its rivals. It is available in three colour options - Raven Black, Victory Yellow, and Thunder Grey.

It directly rivals the Royal Enfield Bear 650 and positions itself as a strong and premium alternative with its blend of off-road capability, premium components, and classic scrambler design.
