BMW F 450 GS Pre-Bookings Open – Himalayan 450 Rival Launching April 23
BMW Motorrad has opened pre-bookings for the upcoming BMW F 450 GS. The announcement was made via its social media channels, and interested customers can now book the motorcycle through authorised dealerships.
BMW F 450 GS ADV Pre Bookings Open Now
The BMW F 450 GS is an adventure motorcycle designed for both on-road and off-road use. This mid-capacity ADV will rival models like the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and the KTM 390 Adventure.
The bike features a tall stance with an aggressive front design. It gets signature LED headlamps with an X-shaped LED DRLS, a prominent headlight cowl, split seats, and an upswept exhaust.
Engine
It is powered by a 420cc twin-cylinder DOHC engine that produces 47.8 PS of power and 43 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a bi-directional quickshifter. A key highlight is the top-spec GS Trophy variant, which comes with an Easy Ride Clutch (ERC).
This system helps prevent stalling at low speeds, making it especially useful in Indian traffic conditions. On the hardware front, the motorcycle is equipped with long-travel KYB USD front forks and a rear monoshock setup. The suspension is fully adjustable and is offered on Sport and GS Trophy variants.
Other Key Features
BMW has kept the motorcycle lightweight at 178 kg, which should translate into improved ride and handling. The seat height stands at 845 mm in its standard configuration and can be adjusted through optional accessories.
The bike rides on a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel, with 310 mm and 240 mm disc brakes respectively, supported by dual-channel ABS. In terms of technology, it gets a 6.5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity, navigation, call and SMS alerts, and music controls.
For enhanced riding capability, it offers multiple riding modes, traction control, and cornering ABS with engine braking control on higher variants. The GS Trophy variant further adds switchable rear ABS, Enduro Pro mode, a rally-style windscreen, and the ERC system.
Price Expectations
The BMW F 450 GS is scheduled to launch on April 23, 2026, and will compete in the highly competitive mid-capacity ADV segment. Prices are expected to start at around ₹5.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
