BMW F 450 GS Sport Launched At Rs 5.90 Lakh

The BMW F 450 GS Sport has been launched in India at Rs 5.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The F 450 GS Sport is the fourth variant of the middleweight adventure motorcycle from BMW Motorrad and it comes with Sport Suspension and an exclusive Racing Red finish.

BMW F 450 GS Sport Price and Variants

Until now, the F 450 GS was sold in Base, Exclusive and GS Trophy variants. The new Sport slots in between the Exclusive and the GS Trophy, and is Rs 25,000 more affordable than the top-spec Trophy variant.

When the BMW F 450 GS first went on sale in April, the Base was priced at Rs 4.70 lakh, the Exclusive at Rs 4.90 lakh and the GS Trophy at Rs 5.30 lakh. Prices have gone up since, and the range now starts at Rs 5.35 lakh. (All figures mentioned are ex-showroom).

BMW F 450 GS Sport - Engine & Features

The new BMW F 450 GS Sport variant uses the same 420cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin as the rest of the range. The engine pushes out 48bhp at 8,750rpm and 43Nm at 6,750rpm through a 6-speed gearbox. BMW quotes an unladen weight of 178kg and a seat height of 845mm for the F 450 GS.

Sport Suspension is the headline change in the BMW F 450 GS Sport, giving the ew variant a more focused setup than the standard Base and Exclusive variants. Gear Shift Assistant Pro is also standard, allowing clutchless gear changes under the right conditions. Riding Modes Pro adds an Enduro Pro setting to the existing Rain, Road and Enduro modes.

Both the Sport and the GS Trophy get Sport Suspension and Riding Modes Pro. The Trophy adds BMW's Easy Ride Clutch, which isn't listed for the Sport, so the BMW F 450 GS Sport relies on a conventional clutch backed by Gear Shift Assistant Pro. The Trophy also has an aluminium engine guard and a tinted Rallye windscreen. With the arrival of the BMW F 450 GS Sport riders who wanted the Trophy's equipment without the Easy Ride Clutch now have that option.

Racing Red paint is exclusive to the Sport. The X-shaped LED headlamp, front beak and upright proportions carry over from the other variants. Standard kit on the BMW F 450 GS Sport also includes a clear Rallye windscreen, black handguards, off-road footpegs and a plastic engine guard.
