BMW Launches India-Made F 450 GS In Malaysia At Almost Double The India Price

BMW Motorrad has launched the India-made BMW F 450 GS in Malaysian two wheeler market. India's TVS Motor Company manufactures this adventure motorcycle at its Hosur facility in Tamil Nadu.

India-Made BMW F 450 GS Adventure Launched in Malaysia

The F 450 GS is BMW's latest entry into the entry-level premium adventure motorcycle segment. This twin-cylinder ADV was co-developed by TVS and BMW and features a unique 135-degree crankshaft setup, along with several off-road-focused components.

The motorcycle was launched in India at a starting price of Rs 4.70 lakh (ex-showroom). It has now entered the Malaysian market at a starting price of RM 40,000 (around Rs 9.14 lakh).

Better riding and performance

One of the key highlights of the F 450 GS is its lightweight construction. Weighing just 178 kg, it is among the lightest motorcycles in its segment, offering riders better agility and improved confidence both on and off the road. It comes equipped with 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels, a 180 mm long-travel KYB suspension setup, switchable traction control, and multiple off-road-ready features.

Powering the motorcycle is a 420cc parallel-twin engine producing 48 bhp and 43 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. It also gets premium features such as ABS Pro, multiple riding modes, engine drag torque control, a 6.5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity, an Easy Ride clutch for smoother city riding, and a quick shifter.

Off road focused

For off-road enthusiasts, the bike also gets a sporty windshield, rally seat, height-adjustable brake and gearshift levers, spoke wheels, adjustable suspension with rebound and compression settings, knuckle guards, a high-mounted front fender, and engine sump guards.

The BMW F 450 GS is a global model built for markets like the US, Europe, India, and Southeast Asia. Since it was co-developed with TVS, a similar adventure motorcycle under the TVS brand is also expected in the future, based on the same platform.
