BMW has launched the new F 450 GS adventure motorcycle in India, primarily rivalling the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. This twin-cylinder motorcycle has been introduced at a starting price of ₹4.70 lakh (ex-showroom) and is fully manufactured in India.

The F 450 GS is available in three variants: Base, Exclusive, and Trophy. Each variant comes with a distinct set of features and equipment, and here we compare their offerings along with pricing.

Engine and Gearbox
The motorcycle is powered by a 420cc parallel-twin engine that produces 48 hp of power and 43 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. It has a claimed top speed of 165 km/h and is E20-compliant. It also features ride-by-wire technology, an anti-hopping clutch system, and a 14-litre fuel tank, making it suitable for both touring and everyday use.
Hardware and Components
The F 450 GS is built on a lightweight steel trellis frame and has a kerb weight of 178 kg, which enhances its overall ride and handling characteristics, especially in off-road conditions.
At the front, it is equipped with 43 mm KYB USD forks, while the rear gets a preload-adjustable monoshock. The suspension offers 180 mm of travel at both ends, ensuring better capability across varied terrains.

The Most affordable Base Variant is priced at 4.70 Lakh (ex-showroom), the more balanced Exclusive variant starts at 4.90 Lakh (ex-showroom) and the most capable top of the line GS Trophy variant demands 5.30 lakh (ex-showroom). BMW is offering 3 year warranty for this vehicle and the service interval is 10,000kms. It has also become BMW's most affordable twin cylinder offering in India.
