Bajaj-Triumph 400cc Motorcycles Hit 1 Lakh Sales Milestone In India In Just 2.5 Years

Triumph Motorcycles has officially crossed the 1 lakh sales milestone with its 400cc motorcycle lineup in the Indian market. The British brand's most affordable motorcycles are witnessing strong demand from Indian consumers, making India one of the key markets for the new platform.

Triumph 400cc Motorcycles New Sales Milestone

The 400cc range was introduced through the Bajaj-Triumph partnership in the second half of 2023. Under this collaboration, the motorcycles are manufactured at Bajaj Auto's Pune facility, enabling competitive pricing and large-scale production.

The first two motorcycles launched under this partnership were the Speed 400 and the Scrambler 400X. Both models quickly gained popularity among Indian buyers for their premium design, modern features, and accessible pricing.

Following the successful launch, Bajaj and Triumph expanded their lineup. The brand's network has also grown to over 230 dealerships across 200 cities in India, helping the company connect with a wider audience and strengthen its presence in the premium motorcycle segment.

Apart from the domestic market, the 400cc motorcycles are also being exported to several international markets, including Australia, Mexico, the UK, and Japan. Speaking about the milestone, Manik Nangia, President of Bajaj Auto, said, "Reaching 1 lakh Triumph motorcycles on Indian roads within just 2.5 years is a proud milestone for us. Triumph customers are discerning riders who have strongly endorsed our engineering with our modern classic motorcycles. The brand has always been built for those who know the difference, and we remain committed to strengthening our premium ecosystem and deepening our engagement with riders across the country."

New 350cc Triumph On the Works

Meanwhile, Bajaj and Triumph are also reportedly developing a new 350cc motorcycle for the Indian market. This move comes after the Union Government imposed a 40% GST on motorcycles above 350cc, making sub-350cc models more attractive.

The upcoming 350cc model is expected to debut around April 2026. It is likely to be based on the existing 400cc platform, but with a smaller engine and slightly revised components. Currently, Royal Enfield dominates the 350cc segment with models like the Classic 350 and Hunter 350, thanks to strong brand loyalty and a massive sales and service network.

However, with Bajaj Auto's manufacturing strength and dealership network, the upcoming Triumph 350cc models could emerge as a strong challenger in this segment. Triumph, one of the most respected British motorcycle brands globally, already enjoys strong brand recognition in the mid-capacity and premium motorcycle space.
