Bajaj ADV Motorcycle Spied Again With TFT Display, Air-Cooled 249cc Engine

Bajaj's upcoming adventure motorcycle has been spotted testing in India once again, with fresh spy shots revealing a TFT instrument cluster, updated switchgear and near-production bodywork ahead of its launch.

The latest images shared by @xpulse_trails_1729 on Instagram offer the clearest look yet at the motorcycle's engine, ruling out earlier speculation about a KTM-derived liquid-cooled unit and pointing instead to an air/oil-cooled setup borrowed from the Pulsar N250.

Prominent cooling fins on the cylinder and the absence of a radiator confirm the air/oil-cooled layout, most likely the 249cc single-cylinder engine that powers the Pulsar N250. On that motorcycle, the unit produces 24.5PS and 21.5Nm and is paired with a 5-speed gearbox.

Bajaj is expected to revise the engine's tuning and gearing to favour low-end and mid-range performance suited to touring and light off-road use. A four-valve cylinder head update, similar to the one seen on the Pulsar N160 SS, could also be added to extract more performance from the platform. Retaining the N250 engine should help Bajaj keep production costs, and eventually pricing, under control.

The test mule of the upcoming Bajaj ADV carries a fully digital TFT instrument console similar to the unit introduced on the Pulsar N160 4V, which supports smartphone connectivity, Google Maps mirroring, notifications and music controls on that motorcycle. The exact feature set for the adventure bike has not been confirmed. The switchgear also mirrors the new N160 setup, letting the rider operate the display without removing a hand from the handlebar, though it remains unclear if riding modes or switchable traction control will be offered.

Michelin MT60 dual-purpose tyres were wrapped around the wire-spoke wheels of the Bajaj ADV test mule, likely in a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear combination. Suspension duties are handled by conventional telescopic forks and a rear monoshock, working with a tall stance and long-travel setup. The motorcycle also gets generous ground clearance and a high-mounted exhaust, reinforcing its off-road intent.

Other details include a large front beak, an upright riding position, a tall handlebar and a long single-piece seat that offers adequate room for a pillion. The test unit was also fitted with a large rear top box, and the presence of a saree guard confirms the motorcycle is being developed for the Indian market. Most of the bodywork appears close to production form, though the headlamp and front section remain heavily camouflaged.

Bajaj ADV 250: Rivals & Expected Launch Timeline

In India, the upcoming Bajaj ADV motorcycle is expected to take on the Hero Xpulse 210, Kawasaki KLX230, Suzuki V-Strom SX and Yezdi Adventure.

Bajaj could sell the motorcycle under the Trekker name, which the company has already trademarked. Bajaj Brazil has confirmed that multiple units are undergoing component development and homologation in Manaus, with a Latin American launch expected around Christmas 2026 as reported by Instagram channel @motoobrasil. However, reports differ on the launch timelines for the Indian market, with some suggesting an Indian launch around the 2026 festive season ahead of Brazil, while others point to a Latin American debut first and an India launch only in early 2027.
