Ather Energy Adds Tamil Language Support To Rizta Scooter – More Indian Languages To Follow

Ather Energy has updated its Rizta family electric scooter with a Tamil-language dashboard and interface as part of its multilingual interface rollout. The update will begin rolling out from February 2026, enabling Tamil text across the entire display, from charging information to navigation prompts, making the scooter more accessible for regional users.

Ather Rizta Z Gets Tamil Dashboard

This new dashboard will be exclusive to Rizta Z Line users and will not be available for the S trims. To access the feature, Ather owners will need to download the OTA update, which will be pushed out starting next month. The scooter already supports Hindi, which was added last year.

As EV scooters continue to evolve with better connectivity and smarter technology, offering interfaces in native languages builds greater trust and helps users feel more connected to the brand. This is especially important for riders who may not be comfortable using English-based systems.

The multilingual dashboard is part of the AtherStack program, a subscription-based platform that offers riders multiple connected features and regular software updates throughout their ownership. Adding native-language support will also benefit users who are familiar only with their regional language, improving accessibility and usability.

More Indian Languages To Follow

Ather has also confirmed plans to introduce additional Indian languages, including Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, through future OTA updates. The announcement comes just ahead of Pongal, making it a timely and welcome update for Ather's Tamil-speaking customers.

Rolling out these updates to the Ather Rizta is a smart move, as it is one of India's best-selling family-oriented electric scooters. The Rizta has already crossed the 2 lakh sales milestone in India and continues to see strong demand.

The Rizta offers a claimed IDC range of 159 km and features several practical elements, including 56 litres of under-seat storage, a multipurpose charger, a wide pillion seat, grab rails, and utility hooks.

In terms of technology, it comes equipped with features such as Reverse Mode, AutoHold, Magic Twist, multiple Ride Modes, live location sharing, skid control, an Anti-Theft suite, ParkSafe alerts, crash alerts, FallSafe, emergency stop signals, voice assistance, and turn-by-turn navigation.

The Ather Rizta S trim is priced at ₹1,04,999 (ex-showroom), while the Rizta Z trim costs ₹1,30,447 (ex-showroom). It competes with rivals such as the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Ola S1 Pro, and Hero Vida VX2 Plus.
