Ather Rizta Electric Scooter Crosses 3 Lakh Sales Milestone In Just Over 2 Years

One of India's most popular electric scooters, the Ather Rizta, has crossed the 3 lakh sales milestone in the Indian market. This family-focused EV scooter has emerged as a key growth driver for Ather Energy and continues to play a major role in strengthening the brand's position in the rapidly growing electric two-wheeler segment.

Ather Energy is currently among the leading electric scooter manufacturers in India, competing closely with brands such as TVS Motor Company and Bajaj Auto. Launched on April 6, 2024, the Rizta was introduced as a practical and family-oriented electric scooter aimed at attracting mainstream buyers.

Ather Rizta Electric Scooter Crosses 3 Lakh Sales

In just over two years, the scooter has managed to outsell several rivals and cross the impressive 3 lakh sales milestone, becoming one of the company's most successful products to date.

The sales growth of the Rizta has been particularly rapid. Ather sold the first 1 lakh units within just over 10 months of launch. The scooter then crossed the 2 lakh sales mark in October 2025, and within another six months, cumulative sales surged past 3 lakh units by the end of April 2026.

Currently, Ather manufactures the Rizta at its Hosur facility in Tamil Nadu. To support increasing demand and future expansion plans, the company is also constructing a new manufacturing plant near Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar in Maharashtra. This upcoming facility is expected to significantly boost Ather's production capabilities with an annual manufacturing capacity of up to 1 million units.

The Ather Rizta has gained popularity primarily due to its practicality, feature-rich package, and focus on family usability. The scooter claims a maximum IDC-certified range of 159 km and comes equipped with several premium features.

Some of the major highlights include a large 56-litre storage capacity incorporating a 22-litre front storage compartment (frunk), Auto Hold function, TFT display, Reverse Mode, integrated Google Maps navigation, Magic Twist technology, multiple riding modes, smartphone connectivity, and live location sharing features.

The Rizta is currently priced from ₹1.10 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top-spec Rizta Z variant is priced at ₹1.28 lakh (ex-showroom). Ather also offers an 8-year battery warranty, further enhancing buyer confidence in long-term ownership.

Additionally, the scooter is available under Ather's Battery as a Service (BaaS) subscription model, which reduces the initial purchase price to around ₹76,000, making it significantly more accessible for budget-conscious buyers.

Following the strong market success of the Rizta, Ather Energy is now working on a new affordable EL platform that is expected to support multiple future electric scooter models. This upcoming architecture will likely help the company expand further into the mass-market EV segment in the coming years.
