Ather EL Platform Electric Scooter Launch Date Confirmed For August 2026
Ather Energy will launch its new EL platform electric scooters on August 29, 2026, in Bengaluru. This upcoming mass-market scooter is expected to become the brand's most affordable offering for Indian consumers.
The Indian EV ecosystem is receiving significant attention, with rapidly increasing EV adoption and evolving technologies, especially in the two-wheeler segment. Ather Energy is one of the leading EV manufacturers in India, with a strong lineup that includes the Ather Rizta, Ather 450X, and the 450 Apex.

Now, the brand is aiming to enter the mass-market segment by challenging several ICE scooters in the sub-Rs 1 lakh category. The company has already developed a new EL platform that can underpin multiple types of scooters, including family, maxi, and sporty variants.
Ather EL Platform Electric Scooters Launch Date
Several reports now claim that Ather will host a Community Day on August 29, 2026, during which the new EL platform scooter is expected to be launched. Ather has already been spotted testing these scooters several times in near-production form.

The new EL platform scooter will feature a new electric architecture, fresh design, updated equipment, advanced technology features, and new battery capacities. The primary focus will be on the mass-market segment, where buyers are looking for an electric scooter priced under Rs 1 lakh.
We also expect these scooters to support AtherStack 7, the latest version of the company's software-defined EV ecosystem. These scooters are also expected to be cost-effective, with fully locally sourced components and parts.
The expected price could be around Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom), making it one of the most affordable electric scooters in its segment. Its primary rivals will be TVS and Bajaj, which already offer electric scooters under Rs 1 lakh. With the BaaS scheme, the upcoming Ather scooter could be priced even more aggressively, potentially challenging several of the best-selling ICE scooters in the country.
