Ather 450X Gets Infinite Cruise Control Via OTA, Existing Customers Eligible
One of India's leading electric scooter brands, Ather Energy, has updated its Ather 450X with a new infinite cruise control feature. This new technology has been introduced via an over-the-air (OTA) update, allowing even existing Ather customers to access the feature by simply updating their system.
Ather 450X Gets Infinite Cruise Control
The new Infinite Cruise feature has been designed specifically for urban riding conditions, where vehicles often move at low speeds. With this update, 450X owners can use cruise control without worrying about frequent stop-and-go traffic. The feature was first introduced on the Ather 450 Apex in August 2025 and has now been expanded to the regular 450X, enhancing its capabilities.

Traditionally, cruise control systems are used on highways, where traffic is minimal, and vehicles maintain a constant speed. The system disengages when the rider accelerates or decelerates. Again, the rider should manually set the speed for cruise control.
However, Ather's Infinite Cruise works differently. It remains active even in heavy traffic conditions and can automatically adapt to varying speeds without rider input. Even if the rider accelerates temporarily, the system continues running in the background and resets to the previously set cruise speed once the rider stops accelerating.

Riders can set Infinite Cruise at speeds ranging from as low as 10 km/h up to a maximum of 90 km/h. These advanced features are available only on scooters equipped with the Ather Stack Pro software package, which is a subscription-based service.
The Ather 450X is powered by a 6.4 kW electric motor producing 26 Nm of torque. It has a top speed of 90 km/h and delivers a claimed maximum range of up to 161 km. The scooter also features telescopic front forks, a rear monoshock suspension, and a lightweight aluminium chassis, making it agile and nimble for city riding.
The Ather 450X is priced at 1.48 lakh (ex-showroom). The optional Ather Stack Pro software package costs an additional 22,000. Ather is planning to introduce a new EL platform in 2026, which is designed to focus on multiple scooter segments which are cost-effective and affordable.
