Aprilia X 250TH Revealed As 240hp Track Bike With MotoGP Tech - Only 30 Will Be Made

Aprilia has unveiled the X 250TH, a limited-run, track-only motorcycle built to commemorate 250 years since the signing of the United States Declaration of Independence. Based on the RSV4 platform, the Aprilia X 250TH represents the sixth iteration of Aprilia's "X" programme and is limited to just 30 units globally, with each priced at $150,000 (approximately ₹1.25 crore) before taxes.

Of these, 25 units of the Aprilia X 250TH are earmarked for the US market, with the remaining five allocated to other regions. The bike, which was revealed just before the Moto GP's Grand Prix of the United States features a unique Stars and Stripes livery, aligning with the theme of the American anniversary it celebrates.

Aprilia X 250TH Revealed

Power for the Aprilia X 250TH comes from a heavily reworked version of the RSV4's 1,099cc 65-degree V4 engine, producing 240hp at 13,750rpm and 131Nm of torque at 11,750rpm. The engine revs to 14,100rpm and features a higher compression ratio, revised intake system, titanium exhaust and a dry clutch. Thanks to a weight (dry) of 165kg, the Aprilia X 250TH offers a power to weight ratio way over the 1:1 holy grail.

The biggest highlight of the Aprilia X 250TH are its brakes. The track-only special edition is equipped with carbon-carbon brake discs, marking the first time such a system has been offered on a customer motorcycle. The setup is derived directly from MotoGP machinery and is designed for extreme thermal performance and reduced weight.

The Aprilia X 250TH also features include a pressurised Öhlins suspension setup, forged magnesium wheels clad in Pirelli World Superbike slick tyres. The chassis continues with the aluminium twin-spar frame used on the RSV4.

The aerodynamic package of the Aprilia X 250TH is also derived from the RS-GP MotoGP bike, incorporating winglets, seat wings and additional aero elements across the bodywork. A ground-effect system integrated into the fairing is designed to increase stability and grip during cornering.

The Aprilia X 250TH's electronics suite are managed by Aprilia's race-spec APX ECU, allowing adjustments to traction control, engine braking and power delivery. The system also includes GPS-based functionality for track use.

Speaking about the Aprilia X 250TH, Massimo Rivola, Aprilia Racing CEO said, "Once again, Aprilia Racing introduces an exclusive product which is even closer to a MotoGP bike. The Aprilia X 250TH is clearly an item for true connoisseurs - something unrivalled. Over the years, the X bikes have become highly sought after for both collectors and for those seeking to experience a thrill that is extremely close to what MotoGP riders feel."
