2027 Triumph Tiger 1200 Revealed With 158hp Engine and Radar-Based Rider Aids

British bikemaker Triumph has revealed the 2027 Tiger 1200. The 2027 version of Triumph's ADV flagship gets a more powerful 1,160cc triple cylinder engine, radar-based rider aids and self-lowering suspension.

Globally, the 2027 Triumph Tiger 1200 is offered in four variants: GT Pro, GT Explorer, Rally Pro and Rally Explorer. India will get two of them, the GT Pro and Rally Explorer, and prices will be announced in early 2027.

2027 Triumph Tiger 1200 - Variants

The 2027 Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Pro is the road-focused variant, with cast aluminium wheels and a 20-litre fuel tank. It is offered in Sapphire Black and Aluminium Silver/Pacific Blue.

The Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer runs tubeless cross-spoke wheels and a 30-litre tank, in Ash Grey/Sapphire Black and Matt Khaki Green. It also adds an Off-road Pro riding mode and additional engine protection.

Explorer trims across the range come with a tyre pressure monitoring system, lower engine bars, and handlebars set 10mm higher and 10mm wider. Triumph India still lists the outgoing Tiger 1200 range from Rs 19.39 lakh (ex-showroom), though those are MY24 models.

2027 Triumph Tiger 1200 - Engine, Chassis and Brakes

The 2027 Triumph Tiger 1200 is powered by a liquid-cooled 1,160cc triple that makes 158hp at 9,250rpm and 130Nm at 6,750rpm. That is 8hp more than before, with peak torque arriving lower in the rev range.

Triumph has reworked the cylinder head, pistons and exhaust, and fitted lighter intake and exhaust valves with more precise fuel injection. The first three gear ratios are new, and the six-speed gearbox and shaft drive have also been refined.

All four variants of the Tiger 1200 ride on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel combination. Wet weight is 250kg for the GT Pro, 255kg for the Rally Pro, 260kg for the GT Explorer and 268kg for the Rally Explorer.

The suspension setup is from Showa, with a 49mm USD front fork and a monoshock with automatic self-levelling preload, both offering 200mm of travel. Inputs from multiple sensors, including a six-axis IMU, continuously adjust compression and rebound damping. Braking is handled by twin 320mm front discs with Brembo Stylema calipers and a 282mm rear disc.

An automatic ride-height function lowers the seat by 30mm when the bike stops. With the optional low seat fitted, standstill seat height drops to as low as 790mm.

2027 Triumph Tiger 1200 - Design, Technology and Rider Aids

The 2027 Triumph Tiger 1200 carries a refreshed look that is not a major departure from the outgoing bike. The fuel tank, radiator cowls, beak and windscreen are tweaked, and a new adaptive LED projector headlight comes with cornering function.

A 7-inch TFT touchscreen offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, alongside a cooled phone compartment and USB-C charging. Heated rider and pillion seats and three-stage heated grips are standard across the range.

Other aids include adaptive cruise control, group ride assist, forward collision warning, emergency brake assist, blind spot assist and rear distance warning. Cornering ABS, traction control and a bi-directional quickshifter complete the electronics list.
