2027 Kawasaki Z900 Launched At Rs 9.99 Lakh - Bi-Directional Quickshifter & IMU Tech
Japanese bikemaker Kawasaki has launched the 2027 Z900 in India at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated 2027 Kawasaki Z900 gets IMU-based electronics, a dual-direction quickshifter and revised Sugomi styling.
The 2027 Kawasaki Z900 is offered in Ebony/Metallic Carbon Gray and Pearl Blizzard White/Plasma Lime Green colours. Deliveries of the 2027 Kawasaki Z900 start today (28 October 2026).

2027 Kawasaki Z900 - Engine and Chassis
The Z900 retains its 948cc, liquid-cooled, four-stroke inline-four engine, which makes 124 PS at 9,500 rpm and 98.6 Nm at 7,700 rpm. A six-speed gearbox with an assist and slipper clutch handles transmission duties.
Electronic throttle valves with 36 mm bores let the ECU manage both fuel and air delivery. Riders can pick Full Power or Low Power, with the latter limiting output to approximately 75 percent and softening the throttle response.
Riding modes pair traction control with power delivery. Sport runs KTRC 1 with Full Power, Road uses KTRC 2 with Full Power, and Rain combines KTRC 3 with Low Power. A Rider mode lets each setting be changed independently.
The 2027 Kawasaki Z900 uses a high-tensile steel trellis frame with an updated gusset behind the head pipe. The pivot area is revised to fit the quickshifter, and the rear rails are less upswept to allow thicker seat cushioning.
The suspension setup comprises a 41 mm inverted fork with rebound damping and spring preload adjustment, and a horizontal back-link, gas-charged rear shock with the same adjustments. Wheel travel is 120 mm at the front and 140 mm at the rear. New Dunlop Sportmax Q5A tyres sit on star-pattern five-spoke wheels.
Updated settings at both ends give the 2027 Kawasaki Z900 a more forward-leaning stance. Braking uses dual 264 mm front discs with radial-mounted, opposed four-piston calipers and a 216 mm rear disc, with ABS at both ends. The Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lock Brake System monitors wheel speed, front caliper hydraulic pressure and engine ECU parameters to limit rear lift under hard braking.
2027 Kawasaki Z900 - Styling, Electronics & Features
The 2027 Kawasaki Z900 keeps the crouching stance, low-positioned head and upswept tail of the Sugomi design. Up front is a triple LED headlight, with the two upper lamps handling low beam and the lower lamp the high beam. Aluminium shrouds on either side carry an engraved Z logo. The LED taillight uses a light-guiding tube lit from LED point sources on both sides, and a shorter tail cowl makes it appear to float.
IMU-supported aids include three-mode traction control with an off setting, and the Kawasaki Cornering Management Function (KCMF), which modulates engine power and brake force through corners. The dual-direction quickshifter enables clutchless upshifts and downshifts from 1,500 rpm. Electronic cruise control holds a set speed using a couple of buttons.
The 5-inch TFT colour display is larger than the previous model's unit and switches between two layouts. Type 1 has a bar-style tachometer, while Type 2 uses a hexagonal tachometer with a lean angle indicator or turn-by-turn directions. Bluetooth in the instrument panel connects the 2027 Kawasaki Z900 to the Kawasaki Rideology application. The updated app adds voice commands and turn-by-turn navigation.
India Kawasaki Motors Managing Director Yutaka Yamashita said: "We are delighted to introduce the MY27 Kawasaki Z900 to our customers in India, one of Kawasaki's most important motorcycle markets. The heritage of the Z Series began in 1972 with the legendary Kawasaki 900 Super4, widely known as the Z1. The Z1 set a new benchmark for motorcycle performance and became an icon in motorcycling history.
Today's Z900 proudly carries forward the legacy of this legendary '900' name, combining its rich heritage with modern technology and unmistakable Sugomi styling. Powered by a 948 cm³ inline-four engine, the Z900 delivers exhilarating performance, agile handling, and the distinctive riding experience that defines Kawasaki's Z Series. Indian riders have a strong passion for performance and individuality, and we believe the Z900 perfectly reflects these aspirations.
We hope our customers will appreciate not only its outstanding performance but also the proud heritage behind the Z900 name. We sincerely thank our customers for their continued trust and enthusiasm for Kawasaki. As we approach the 55th anniversary of the Z Series in 2027, we look forward to sharing the excitement and joy of riding with even more riders across India. Let the Good Times Roll."
