2027 Kawasaki Ninja 650: Powertrain & Other Mechanical Bits
The current bike's 649cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine carries over unchanged to the 2027 Kawasaki Ninja 650. It produces 68hp and 64Nm, and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The Kawasaki Quick Shifter (KQS) is offered on the Ninja 650 for the first time. It enables clutchless upshifts and is available as an accessory, not as standard equipment.

The 2026 bike's 41mm telescopic fork has been replaced by a 37mm Showa SFF-BP (Separate Function Fork, Big Piston) inverted unit. The larger piston allows lower damping pressure, and Kawasaki says the setup improves feel and stability on corner entry. The rear shock gets a higher spring rate to suit the revised front end. A wider front mudguard now covers more of the new fork legs.
Twin 300mm front discs are retained on the 2027 Kawasaki Ninja 650. However, the axial-mount two-piston calipers are swapped for opposed four-piston radial-mount units. Kerb weight for the European-spec 2027 Kawasaki Ninja 650 is 194kg, while seat height drops slightly to 785mm.

The 4.3-inch TFT instrument cluster for the 2027 Kawasaki Ninja 650 gets a redesigned display layout. Smartphone connectivity through Rideology now includes navigation and voice commands, though Kawasaki says voice commands need a separate licence and depend on the market.
The 2027 Kawasaki Ninja 650 is offered in Lime Green, Metallic Flat Spark Black with Metallic Carbon Gray, and Metallic Matte Graphenesteel Gray with Metallic Spark Black. Colour availability in India may differ when the bike finally arrives on our shores.
