2027 Kawasaki KLX230 Range Launched, Prices Start At Rs 1.89 Lakh
Kawasaki has updated the KLX230 lineup for 2027 model year with the addition of a new variant called the KLX230 S. The KLX230 range now comprises three models: the standard KLX230, the new KLX230 S, and the off-road-only KLX230R S.
All three motorcycles continue to use the same 233cc air-cooled, fuel-injected single-cylinder engine that puts out 19hp at 7,800rpm and 19Nm at 6,200rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Pricing across the lineup has also been revised upward for the new model year.

Kawasaki has revised pricing across the board for the MY27 KLX230 range. Prices now start at Rs 1.89 lakh for the KLX230R S and go up to Rs 2.19 lakh for both the KLX230 and the new KLX230 S, all ex-showroom, Delhi.
The hikes are significant. The standard KLX230 jumps from Rs 1.84 lakh to Rs 2.19 lakh, while the KLX230R S sees a smaller increase of Rs 10,000 over its previous price. Deliveries for the KLX230R S are set to begin from mid-August 2026, with the KLX230 and KLX230 S following from mid-September 2026.

2027 Kawasaki KLX230 S Details
The Kawasaki KLX230 S is mechanically identical to the standard KLX230 but is aimed at shorter riders. Its seat height is set at 830mm, a full 50mm lower than the 880mm seat height of the standard KLX230.

This reduction comes at the cost of suspension travel. The KLX230 S gets 160mm at the front and 163mm at the rear, down from 220mm and 223mm on the KLX230. Ground clearance also drops to 220mm from 255mm as a result.
The Kawasaki KLX230R S remains the most off-road-focused model of the trio. It skips the headlamp and other road-going equipment altogether in favour of a setup built purely for off-road use. This includes a tall 900mm seat height along with 270mm of ground clearance, figures that are considerably higher than both road-legal variants in the range.
