Yamaha Unveils R3 70th Anniversary Edition Globally
Yamaha has introduced the R3 Supersport 70th Anniversary Edition for global markets, including the United States. As one of the brand's most successful entry-level supersport models, the R3 now receives a 70th Anniversary special edition, offered in limited numbers, celebrating Yamaha's rich racing heritage since 1955.

The 2026 YZF-R3 70th Anniversary Edition gets a Throwback white and red speed block livery with a complete black underbody. The design remains similar to the standard variant bike, inspired by the YZR-M1 MotoGP bike.
It has an aggressive front fairing, sleek side panels and a sporty tail section with a signature R-series tail wing. Additionally, it gets an LED projector headlamp, LED taillights and LED turn signals.
The YZF-R3 70th Anniversary edition is equipped with the same 321cc high-revving inline, twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that produces 40.4 bhp of power at 10,750 rpm and 29.5 Nm of torque at 9,000 rpm. It is combined with a smooth-shifting 6-speed gearbox with an advanced assist slipper clutch system.
The supersport bike is equipped with a golden USD fork at the front and a monoshock absorber at the rear. For braking, it features a 298mm floating-mount front disc and a 220mm rear disc, along with 10-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels, and dual-channel ABS. The bike's balancing is perfect as it is more agile and sharp at turns.
Yamaha has equipped this bike with a USB-A socket for charging and the Y-Connect feature, enabling seamless smartphone connectivity. The connectivity features include viewing incoming calls, emails and message notifications. Users can also track the motorcycle data, including distance covered, fuel consumption, acceleration, location and much more.
Yamaha hasn't launched the 2026 version of the YZF-R3 in India, but the 2025 model is selling for 3.39 lakhs (ex-showroom). This updated 2026 model is expected to arrive by mid-2026 and is likely to be priced higher. If launched, the anniversary edition will be sold in limited numbers.
