Yamaha R3 & MT-03 Motorcycles Become More Affordable: Prices Slashed Up To Rs 1.10 Lakh
Yamaha has slashed the prices of its flagship motorcycles in India, the R3 and MT-03. The R3 now costs Rs 3.60 lakh, while the MT-03 is priced at Rs 3.50 lakh. This reduction marks a significant decrease of up to Rs 1.10 lakh for both models.
The R3's previous price was Rs 4.65 lakh, but it now stands at Rs 3.60 lakh, making it more competitive against rivals like the Aprilia RS 457, priced at Rs 4.20 lakh. It also aligns closely with the Kawasaki Ninja 300 at Rs 3.43 lakh and KTM RC 390 at Rs 3.21 lakh.
Meanwhile, the MT-03 has seen an even larger price cut of Rs 1.10 lakh, bringing its cost down to Rs 3.50 lakh. This positions it closer to competitors such as the KTM 390 Duke, which is priced at Rs 3.13 lakh, and the upcoming Aprilia Tuono 457, expected to be around Rs 4 lakh.
Both the R3 and MT-03 are imported into India as Completely Built Units (CBUs) and share most of their mechanical components. The primary differences between them lie in their design and riding posture.
Impact of Price Reduction
The substantial price reduction is likely due to Yamaha's initial pricing strategy not meeting sales expectations for these models in India. With this adjustment, Yamaha aims to boost sales by offering more competitive pricing against similar bikes in the market.
These new prices will be effective from February 1, 2025, providing potential buyers with a more attractive option when considering mid-range sports bikes in India.
