Yamaha To Slash Prices By Up To ₹17,581 - Passes Full GST Benefits To Customers
Japanese two-wheeler giant Yamaha has announced that it will pass the full benefit of the recent GST rate cut to customers. From September 22, 2025, prices across Yamaha's motorcycles and scooters will drop thanks to the reduction in GST rates on two-wheelers with engines under 350 cc.
Yamaha joins other major brands like TVS, Bajaj Auto, and Royal Enfield, which are also passing on GST rate benefits to consumers ahead of the festive period. Prices for the Yamaha range in India by up to ₹17,581.
The Yamaha R15 sees the steepest cut in its pricing. THe R15's ex-showroom rate falls from ₹2,12,020 to ₹1,94,439, a saving of ₹17,581. The naked Yamaha MT-15 also becomes more affordable, dropping nearly ₹15,000 to ₹1,65,536.
In Yamaha's hybrid FZ range, the FZ-S Fi Hybrid price drops by ₹12,031, now at ₹1,33,159. The FZ-X Hybrid falls by ₹12,430 to ₹1,37,560, making both commuter-friendly motorcycles more accessible.
Scooter prices receive similar treatment. The Aerox 155 Version S now retails for ₹1,41,137, down ₹12,753. The RayZR sees a ₹7,759 cut, now at ₹86,001. The Fascino drops by ₹8,509 to ₹94,281.
The GST Council's revision applies to the sub-350 cc two-wheeler segment, reducing the tax from 28 per cent to 18 per cent from September 22. The change covers nearly 98 per cent of the Indian two-wheeler market, making smaller bikes and scooters significantly cheaper.
Commenting on the announcement, Itaru Otani, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India Group said, "We would like to thank the Government of India for the timely reduction in GST on two-wheelers. This step will provide a strong boost to the two-wheeler demand during the festive season. By making two-wheelers more affordable, it will not only benefit customers directly but also stimulate overall consumption and create positive momentum for the industry."
