Top 5 Things About The Yamaha FZ-X Hybrid: Powertrain, Colours, Price & Other Key Details
Yamaha India has introduced the FZ-X Hybrid, expanding its hybrid commuter motorcycle lineup. It shares similarities with the FZ-S Hybrid, featuring additional elements and fuel-saving technology compared to its non-hybrid counterpart.
Price
The newly introduced Yamaha FZ X Hybrid motorcycle is priced at Rs 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), making this new model Rs 20,000 costlier than the standard Yamaha FZ-X motorcycle.

Powertrain
The Yamaha FZ-X Hybrid retains the same engine as other FZ models. It uses a 149cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine producing 12.4hp and 13.3Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. The hybrid system focuses on improving fuel efficiency rather than enhancing performance, maintaining the same power output as non-hybrid versions.
Features
The FZ-X Hybrid includes an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) for silent starts and start/stop technology. It also features a 4.2-inch colour TFT display with updated switchgear for controlling new dashboard functions, similar to the FZ-S Hybrid. These enhancements aim to provide a more efficient riding experience.
Design
Design-wise, the FZ-X Hybrid mirrors the standard version but weighs slightly more at 141kg, which is 2kg heavier than its non-hybrid counterpart. The additional weight is due to the hybrid components integrated into the motorcycle.
Colour Options
The new Yamaha FZ-X Hybrid motorcycle is available in a single colour option called Matte Titan, which combines matte green with gold wheels.
DriveSpark Thinks
The hybrid system in Yamaha's 150cc commuters primarily targets fuel efficiency improvements rather than performance boosts. This approach ensures that peak outputs remain consistent with non-hybrid versions while offering enhanced mileage benefits for riders.
