Yamaha FZ Rave Launched At ₹1.49 Lakh - Aggressive Styling & New LCD Instrumentation

Japanese bikemaker Yamaha has launched the new FZ Rave motorcycle in the country at an ex-showroom price of ₹1.49 lakh (Delhi). The new Yamaha FZ Rave expands the FZ series with sharper styling, new features and updated equipment, aimed at riders seeking a sporty daily commuter with a premium feel.

The FZ Rave continues to use Yamaha's proven 149 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, producing 12.4PS at 7,250rpm and 13.3Nm of peak torque at 5,500rpm. The engine is paired with a five-speed gearbox.

Design updates on the Yamaha FZ Rave include a redesigned LED headlamp, sleeker tank extensions, and contrasting graphics that distinguish the FZ Rave from the standard FZ-S. Yamaha is offering the FZ Rave in two colour schemes Matte Titan and Metallic Black.

The new FZ-Rave rides on 17-inch alloy wheels and features telescopic front forks with a monoshock rear suspension. The seat of the FZ Rave has been reshaped for improved comfort, and the handlebars have been slightly repositioned for a sportier stance. Yamaha has also given the FZ Rave disc brakes on both ends, aided by single-channel ABS.

The new Yamaha FZ Rave features a new fully-digital LCD instrument cluster that replaces the earlier unit found on other FZ variants. Riders can access essential data such as trip details, average fuel consumption, and gear position from the new display, which also gets a new interface. The lighting package features a full-LED setup including headlamp, tail lamp and indicators.

The new Yamaha FZ Rave will be available across all Yamaha Blue Square dealerships starting later this month.

DriveSpark Thinks

The new FZ Rave sits above the FZ-S in Yamaha's lineup and targets younger buyers looking for a combination of performance, refinement and aggressive styling. While mechanical changes are minimal, Yamaha expects the FZ Rave's refreshed design and feature set to broaden its appeal in the 150 cc premium commuter category which includes Rivals like the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Hero Xtreme 160R 4V and Bajaj Pulsar N150.
