VLF Mobster Scooter Launched At ₹1.30 Lakh - 12.1hp, Traction Control, TFT Display
VLF, also known as Velocifero, has introduced its Mobster ADV scooter in India at an introductory price of ₹1.30 lakh (ex-showroom). The offer is limited to the first 2,500 units, after which regular pricing will be communicated by the manufacturer.
The VLF Mobster is powered by a 125cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. This motor produces 12.1hp at 8,250rpm and 11.7Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. The Mobster has a claimed top speed is 100km/h.
Styling highlights of the VLF Mobster include a low-mounted headlight assembly influenced by Italjet design. The Mobster rides on 12-inch alloy wheels shod with 120/70 front and 130/70 rear tyres. The VLF Mobster tips the scales at 122kg. The scooter's seat height is 797mm, while ground clearance stands at 155mm.
The VLF Mobster's suspension setup consists of a telescopic fork at the front and twin gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear. The Braking setup includes a 230mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc that are aided by dual-channel ABS..
The Mobster features switchable traction control along with a five-inch TFT display with Bluetooth support. Other features include keyless ignition and an optional front dashcam as an accessory.
The introductory price places the VLF Mobster in the same bracket as other premium scooters. Rivals in the market include models like the Yamaha Aerox 155 priced at ₹1.38 lakh and the Hero Xoom 160 priced at ₹1.37 lakh ex-showroom.
Distribution of the VLF Mobster in India is handled by Motohaus, which also retails the VLF Tennis electric scooter. Motohaus currently operates 12 dealerships nationwide, with plans to expand its network by opening 10 additional outlets in the coming months.
The VLF Mobster combines a rather busy design with a powerful engine and a host of features that make it look like a compelling offering. However, with big players like Hero, TVS and Yamaha already offering sporty scooters with similarly powerful options. However, we'll only know more if we get the chance to get in the saddle of the Mobster.
