VinFast To Launch Electric Scooters In India Next Year - Buses On The Way As Well
Vietnamese automaker VinFast is planning to enter the Indian electric two-wheeler market next year as it looks to expand its presence in the country beyond electric cars and SUVs. We were recently invited to the Vinfast headquarters in Vietnam, where the firm showcased quite a few of its offerings, including electric scooters and SUVs and buses.
VinFast currently sells a range of electric scooters in Southeast Asian markets and during our visit, the firm showcased six scooters - Feliz, Klara Neo, Theon S, Vero X, Vento S and Evo Grand, some of which were showcased at the 2025 Barat Mobility Global Expo earlier this year.
VinFast hasn't revealed which of the electric scooters from its existing international lineup will be its first offering for India, but the firm is expected to bring more than one of these scooters to the Indian electric scooter market, currently dominated by TVS, Bajaj and Ather.
Vinfast is currently evaluating the market to determine which of its scooters would best suit and is also looking at localisation options. The new Vinfast electric two-wheelers are expected to share the same dealer network that the Vietnamese firm uses to sell its two four-wheeler options - the VF6 and VF7 in India.
The Vietnamese manufacturer is also expanding its mobility footprint beyond passenger vehicles and is interested in entering the Indian commercial vehicle market with electric buses. Vinfast is in discussions with multiple state transport authorities looking to add electric buses to their fleets.

With a launch expected sometime in 2026, Vinfast is moving to the next step in its multi-phase rollout plans for India, which began earlier this year with the VF6 and VF7 electric SUVs.
