Hero Vida VX2 Electric Scooter Set To Debut On July 1
Hero MotoCorp is set to launch the Vida VX2 electric scooter on July 1. This new model aims to be a more budget-friendly version of the existing Vida V2. The VX2 is designed for daily commuters seeking an affordable electric option. It will with models like TV iQube and S1 Air in the Indian market.
The Vida VX2 will feature a design inspired by the Vida Z concept shown at EICMA 2024. It will have LED lighting, including daytime running lights, indicators, and taillights. The scooter will also include a flat seat, basic toggle buttons on the handlebars, and a digital instrument cluster.

Vida VX2: Equipment and Features
As an economical choice, the Vida VX2 will incorporate some cost-saving measures. Drum brakes will be standard on both ends, though higher trims might offer a front disc brake. A smaller digital display with physical buttons replaces a touchscreen, and it uses a traditional key ignition system.
The powertrain of the Vida VX2 is expected to share its modular architecture with the Vida V2. It will offer multiple battery options ranging from 2.2 kWh to 3.4 kWh. The scooter should provide over 100 kilometres on a full charge, depending on the battery pack chosen.
Vida VX2: Pricing and Subscription Model
The starting price for the Vida VX2 is anticipated to be around ₹1 lakh (ex-showroom). However, Hero MotoCorp plans to introduce a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model. This subscription plan allows buyers to pay based on usage per kilometre, potentially reducing the initial purchase price to about ₹70,000 (ex-showroom).
Hero MotoCorp's entry into India's electric two-wheeler market began with its EV-only sub-brand, Vida. Currently, they sell three trims of the Vida V2: Pro, Plus, and Lite. The upcoming VX2 aims to expand their reach among budget-conscious consumers.
With major players like TVS Motor Company and Bajaj Auto already offering budget-friendly electric scooters, Hero MotoCorp's Vida VX2 seeks to capture this growing segment. The inclusion of removable battery packs facilitates easy indoor charging or swapping.
