Updated TVS Raider Could Be Launched Sooner Than Expected
TVS is preparing to roll out an updated version of one of its most popular motorcycles, the Raider 125, for the Indian market. The 125cc sporty commuter has been a strong performer for the brand since its debut, thanks to its youthful styling, refined engine, and feature-rich package that set a new benchmark in the segment.
According to sources, the upcoming version of the Raider 125 will see notable upgrades that make it even more appealing. The highlight of the update is the addition of a rear disc brake, a first in the 125cc commuter class. TVS will also introduce a single-channel ABS system, aligning the Raider with upcoming government regulations that could mandate ABS for all two-wheelers starting January 2026.

This makes the Raider 125 one of the first sub-125cc motorcycles to offer such safety equipment. Alongside these mechanical updates, TVS is expected to add a fresh paint scheme to give the bike a more premium and sporty appearance.
At present, the most affordable Raider variant comes with drum brakes at both ends, while the higher trims get a front disc brake. The new setup with rear disc and ABS will further strengthen Raider's position in its class, appealing to riders who value both performance and safety.
The Raider 125's success story in India can be attributed to its perfect balance between practicality and excitement. Powered by a refined 124.8cc engine, it delivers an ideal mix of performance and fuel efficiency, while its modern design, digital instrument cluster, LED lighting, and comfortable ride quality make it a complete package for young riders and daily commuters alike.

With these updates, TVS is expected to revise the pricing slightly upward, though the increase is likely to remain modest given the segment's price-sensitive nature. The refreshed Raider 125 will continue to target urban commuters and young enthusiasts who want more style and substance from their daily ride, cementing its position as one of the most desirable motorcycles in the 125cc category.
