TVS Orbiter Electric Scooter Launch Set For 28 August - Will Sit Under The iQube Lineup
Chennai-based two-wheeler manufacturer TVS Motor Company is set to launch an all-new electric scooter in India on 28 August 2025. The company has released a teaser with the line "Get ready for an electrifying ride," confirming the introduction of another battery-powered model into its lineup.
TVS has recently trademarked the "Orbiter" nameplate, and we expect the new electric scooter launching on the 28th to bear this moniker. This is supported by the teaser image for the launch showing a big O surrounding an image of the scooter under a shroud.
Design sketches by TVS filed in Indonesia show a scooter with sharp styling elements. The Orbiter design patents showed of split lighting design at the front, and a large windscreen.
The side panels are slim, and a strong design crease runs across the apron and floorboard area. This section may house the scooter's battery pack. At the rear, the scooter sports split grab rails, LED tail lamps, and a compact tail section.
Suspension duties on the Orbiter are set to be handled by twin rear shock absorbers, while the front wheel looks slightly larger than the rear. The wheel sizes are expected to be 14 inches at the front and 12 inches at the back.
The TVS Orbiter scooter, or at least the one patented in Indonesia, showed a swingarm-mounted motor instead a mid-mounted motor, similar to what Honda did for the Activa e. However, details of both the motor and the battery pack options are currently not available and are all expected to be revealed when the TVS Orbiter makes its debut on the 28th of August.
The new TVS Orbiter is expected to sit below the firm's iQube lineup in terms of pricing, which is expected to be under the ₹1 lakh (ex-showroom) mark. The new TVS Orbiter electric scooter will rival the more basic versions of the Ola S1X and Bajaj Chetak.
