TVS M1-S Electric Maxi-Scooter Teased Ahead Of EICMA 2025 Debut

Chennai-based two-wheeler manufacturer TVS Motor Company has released the first teaser of its upcoming M1-S electric maxi-scooter ahead of its global premiere at EICMA 2025. The M1-S has been developed with Singapore-based Ion Mobility, an EV firm that TVS has invested in.

The teaser for the TVS M1-S reveals a full-size front apron housing integrated LED daytime running lights and a tall windscreen. Also seen in the teaser are the words "Ciao Europe" and "Lead the Charge" as well as the details for when it will be unveiled at EICMA 2025 in Early November.

The Ion M1-S has already been revealed in its home South East Asian markets earlier this year. The TVS-branded version of the EV isn't expected to bring any changes from that scooter.

The TVS Ion M1-S features an aerodynamic front end with angular eyebrow-style DRLs sitting atop the twin LED headlight setup. Also seen is a stepped seat, long wheelbase, and large floorboard.

The rear section features slim LED taillamps, an upswept tail design, and sculpted grab rails that accentuate its premium stance. Alloy wheels and disc brakes can be seen at both ends of the TVS M1-S. Other hardware that can be seen includes telescopic front forks, twin rear shock absorbers, and wide tyres.

The TVS M1-S is powered by a 4.3 kWh lithium-ion battery that delivers a claimed 150kms of range. The battery pack is paired with a mid-mounted electric motor, delivering about 16.7bhp and 45Nm of peak torque. Ion Mobility claims a 0-50 km/h sprint time of 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 105 km/h. The M1-S scooter also supports multiple riding modes, reverse assist, and regenerative braking.

The M1-S sports a large full-colour TFT display offering navigation, smartphone pairing, and connectivity via the latest version of TVS' SmartXonnect suite. Riders will also be able to access live diagnostics, charging status, trip analytics, and vehicle security updates remotely.

Details about whether TVS is planning to bring the M1-S electric scooter are currently not known. However, given the fact that TVS is slowly but surely shifting its focus towards EVs in India, we expect the M1-S to debut in India soon after it goes on sale in Indonesia under the Ion Mobility marque.
