TVS Apache RTX 300 Launch Today! Our Top Expectations

TVS Motor Company is all set to make a grand entry into the adventure motorcycle segment with the launch of its first-ever adventure tourer, the TVS Apache RTX 300, on October 15. This highly anticipated model will be based on an all-new platform designed specifically for adventure touring.

When launched, the Apache RTX 300 will take on established rivals such as the KTM 250 Adventure and the Royal Enfield Scram 440.

Design & Styling

Spy shots and teasers of the Apache RTX 300 have already revealed that TVS is aiming for a rugged yet refined look. The motorcycle sports a sleek LED headlamp setup, flanked by integrated DRLs and topped with a tall windscreen that should offer good wind protection during highway rides. Beneath the headlamp sits a beak-like extension, adding a touch of adventure-bike aggression to the overall stance.

The muscular fuel tank flows smoothly into sculpted side panels, and the split-type seat ensures both rider and pillion comfort during long-distance rides. At the rear, a sturdy luggage rack and compact tail section emphasize touring practicality. The bike's tall stance, purposeful body lines, and balanced proportions give it a commanding presence, one that's likely to stand out in this segment.

Powertrain & Performance

At the heart of the Apache RTX 300 will be a new 299cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, branded as the RTX D4 unit. This motor is expected to produce 35bhp and 28Nm of peak torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox.

The motorcycle is built on a steel trellis frame, ensuring structural rigidity and handling precision. Suspension duties are handled by upside-down (USD) front forks and a rear monoshock, which should provide an excellent balance between on-road comfort and off-road control.

The RTX 300 rides on a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel, wrapped in dual-purpose tyres to enhance traction across surfaces. Braking is managed by disc brakes at both ends, and likely supported by dual-channel ABS for safety and control.

Features & Equipment

TVS is expected to load the Apache RTX 300 with a comprehensive list of modern features. A full-colour TFT display will likely take centre stage on the instrument console, offering smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and notification alerts. Other expected highlights include multiple ride modes, traction control, and possibly a slipper clutch to enhance rider confidence.

DriveSpark Thinks

While TVS has not yet revealed the official price, the company is expected to price the Apache RTX 300 competitively, positioning it below its key rivals, the KTM 250 Adventure and Royal Enfield Scram 440. The pricing strategy will be crucial for the bike's success, as it will determine how effectively TVS can capture the growing segment of adventure motorcycle buyers in India.
