Triumph Thruxton 400 Motorcycle To Be Launched Today In India

The Triumph Thruxton 400 is anticipated to debut on August 6, 2025. This model will join the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X in Triumph's entry-level premium segment. With its cafe racer-inspired design, the Thruxton 400 aims to bring a fresh perspective to the lineup. That said, here are some key expectations about the Triumph Thruxton 400 motorcycle.

Design

Spy images have revealed much about the Thruxton 400's design. It features a retro, British aesthetic with a fighter jet-inspired front fairing likely housing a circular LED headlamp. The bike is expected to offer a dedicated riding position with rear-set clip-on handlebars and foot pegs, staying true to its cafe racer roots.

In terms of styling, expect elements like a teardrop fuel tank, ribbed seat, and minimalistic rear end with a small taillight and grab rail. A two-tone yellow and silver colour scheme has been hinted at, showcasing Triumph's attention to detail in design.

Features

The Thruxton 400 is likely to share many components with the Speed 400 due to their platform-sharing origins. Anticipated features include all-LED lighting, a digital-analogue instrument cluster, dual-channel ABS, and a slipper clutch. Ergonomics might be slightly adjusted to emphasize its sporty nature.

Engine Specifications

The Thruxton 400 will utilise the same 398cc engine as its siblings, producing 39.5bhp and 37.5Nm of torque. This single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine is paired with a 6-speed transmission and slip-and-assist clutch. Some tuning adjustments might be made for enhanced throttle response suited to its sporty character.

The chassis setup is expected to remain consistent with upside-down front forks, rear monoshock, and disc brakes on both ends. While global models have been seen with Pirelli tyres, Indian versions may use locally manufactured alternatives such as MRF for cost efficiency.

Pricing Expectations

The Triumph Speed 400 is priced at Rs 2.40 lakh while the Scrambler 400 X costs Rs 2.65 lakh (ex-showroom). Given its premium styling and positioning within the lineup, the Thruxton 400 could be priced around Rs 2.80 lakh (ex-showroom), making it the most expensive in Triumph's 400cc range in India.
