Suzuki E-Access Electric Scooter Rolls Out Of Plant

In a significant move into the electric vehicle sector, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd (SMIPL) has started the production of its first electric scooter, the e-Access, marking a notable milestone in the company's history. This development comes after the scooter was initially unveiled at the 2025 Auto Expo, showcasing Suzuki's commitment to sustainable and reliable mobility solutions for urban commuters.

The production of e-Access began in May 2025, with the first unit rolling off the line at the manufacturer's facility in Gurgaon, Haryana, signaling Suzuki's entry into the competitive electric scooter market in India.

The e-Access represents Suzuki's venture into electric mobility, powered by their proprietary e-Technology. This includes a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery pack which has been thoroughly tested to ensure durability under various conditions such as submersion, extreme temperatures, and physical impacts. This attention to rigorous testing underlines Suzuki's promise of providing a sustainable and reliable mode of transport.

Additionally, the scooter's electric motor supports regenerative braking, further enhancing its efficiency. The power is delivered to the rear wheels through a belt-drive system, celebrated for its low maintenance needs and quiet operation.

Suzuki's e-Access distinguishes itself with a stylish design that made a significant impact during its showcase at the 2025 Auto Expo. It presents a sleeker and more refined aesthetic compared to its predecessors, featuring a chiselled apron with a vertical LED Daytime Running Light (DRL) and turn indicators, full LED headlights, and a minimalist rear design.

The scooter also boasts dual-tone colours and contrasting seat covers, enhancing its premium appeal. A sizeable TFT instrument cluster is included, offering a range of connectivity features for an enhanced riding experience.

The e-Access is equipped with the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector-e (SDMS-e), offering several riding modes such as Eco Mode, Ride Mode A, Ride Mode B, and a Reverse Mode. This feature caters to various riding preferences and conditions, ensuring a versatile and enjoyable riding experience.

Notably, the scooter is expected to offer a range of up to 95 km on a single charge, with a top speed of 71 km/h. It's powered by an electric motor that delivers 4.1 kW of power and 15 Nm of torque, riding on 12-inch wheels and equipped with disc brakes at the front for enhanced safety.

Although an exact launch date for the e-Access has not been disclosed, its introduction into the market is eagerly anticipated. Once launched, it is expected to compete with major players such as Ather Rizta, Ola S1, Honda Activa e, TVS iQube, and Bajaj Chetak in India's growing electric scooter segment. This move by Suzuki underscores their dedication to offering multi-pathway solutions, focusing on durability, reliability, and sustainability for daily commuting within urban environments.
