Honda Activa Maintains Lead In India's Scooter Sales For February 2025
Across the globe, scooters are gaining popularity over bikes, especially in urban settings. Their gearless design makes them perfect for navigating crowded streets. In India, the trend is no different. Recent data reveals which scooters topped sales charts in February 2025. Here's a detailed look at these popular models.
Leading the pack once again is the Honda Activa. In February 2025, it sold 174,009 units, maintaining its position as India's best-selling scooter. However, this figure marks a decline from February 2024 when over 200,000 units were sold.
Despite the drop from last year, Activa sales improved compared to January 2025, when only 166,739 units were sold. This indicates an increase of 7,270 units in February 2025. Following closely is the TVS Jupiter, which sold 103,576 units last month. This is a significant rise from February 2024's sales of 73,860 units.
In third place is the Suzuki Access with sales of 59,039 units in February 2025. This is an improvement from the previous year when it sold 56,473 units. The electric scooter market also showed growth with TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak securing fourth and fifth places respectively. Their sales figures for February 2025 were 23,581 and 21,240 units.
Comparing these numbers to February 2024, TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak had sold only 15,792 and 13,620 units respectively. The stylish petrol scooter from TVS Motors, the Entorq, ranked sixth with sales of 20,992 units in February 2025. This is a decrease from the previous year's sales of 24,911 units.
The Honda Dio follows in seventh place with a notable drop in sales. In February 2024, it sold 29,649 units but managed only 16,028 units last month. This shows a significant decline in its market performance over the year.
The data highlights a shift towards electric scooters and consistent demand for established models like the Activa and Jupiter. These trends reflect changing consumer preferences and market dynamics in India's scooter segment.
