Ola Electric Rolls Out 1 Millionth Electric Vehicle - Achieves Milestone In Under 4 Years

Bangalore-based EV startup Ola Electric has crossed a major milestone by producing its one-millionth electric vehicle. The milestone was celebrated at the company's FutureFactory in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu, less than four years after production began in 2021, making Ola India's first EV manufacturer to ever cross this mark.

The one millionth EV rolled out by Ola Electric was a special edition Roadster X+ to mark the occasion. Finished in a striking Midnight Blue with bold red accents on the rims, dual-tone seat, and battery pack, the milestone-making Ola Roadster sports badges made out of copper waste and electroplated bar ends.

Ola stated that strong demand for its S1 range of scooters and the recently launched Roadster X motorcycle line helped it reach the one-million mark. The milestone also underlines how quickly the brand has scaled production since entering the electric two-wheeler market in 2021.

Speaking on the achievement, an Ola spokesperson said, "This marks the celebration of every Indian who trusted us and believed in our mission. In four years, we've gone from an idea to becoming India's EV two-wheeler leader. Our mission is clear: #EndICEAge and make India the global EV hub."

At its annual 'Sankalp' event on Independence Day, Ola also announced its new 4680 Bharat Cell-powered vehicles. The S1 Pro+ with a 5.2kWh battery is priced at ₹1,69,999, while the Roadster X+ featuring a 9.1kWh pack is priced at ₹1,89,999. Deliveries for both EVs will begin this Navratri.

The company further expanded its portfolio by entering the sports scooter category with the launch of the S1 Pro Sport. Offered with 5.2kWh and 4kWh battery options powered by the 4680 Bharat Cell, it carries an introductory price of ₹1,49,999, with deliveries set to start in January 2026.

Despite its achievements, Ola has seen its market share decline from around 51 per cent in May 2024 to roughly 18 per cent at present. Increased competition from TVS, Bajaj, and Ather, along with questions on service support, has put pressure on the company.

Even so, the production milestone reflects Ola's massive scale. The Krishnagiri FutureFactory is among the world's largest two-wheeler facilities and has enabled the rapid rollout of Ola's products. The facility is backed by the Bengaluru-based Battery Innovation Centre, which develops core cell technologies for the company.

Ola's network has also grown significantly. With more than 4,000 company-owned experience stores across India combined with a strong online presence, the brand has built the country's largest direct-to-customer sales and service ecosystem for electric two-wheelers.
