What’s Different In The New KTM RC 390? Test Mule Spotted With New Design And Features
The KTM RC390 is undergoing significant updates, as evidenced by recent testing overseas. The new model will feature a completely redesigned bodywork, setting it apart from its predecessors. The bike's centre-set projector LED headlight is integrated into a single-piece fairing, complemented by a transparent bubble visor and mirrors.
The upcoming RC390 will likely retain the 399cc liquid-cooled engine found in the current 390 Duke. This engine produces 44.25bhp and 39Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox. The updated version is expected to maintain these performance figures.

Features and Electronics
KTM plans to equip the RC390 with advanced electronics, including LED lighting, a TFT display with smartphone connectivity, and a bi-directional quickshifter. Additional features may include switchable ABS, ride modes, and traction control.
The test mule showcases large side vents designed to cool the high-compression single-cylinder motor effectively. The fuel tank design, rear seat, and tail section have also undergone significant revisions.

Chassis and Suspension Upgrades
Despite changes to the chassis, the RC390 retains its trellis frame structure. The suspension system will consist of USD front forks and a monoshock at the rear. Both components are expected to offer rebound and compression adjustability for improved handling.
The braking system will feature front and rear discs equipped with dual-channel ABS for enhanced safety. These components will be mounted on 17-inch alloy wheels.

Pricing Expectations
With numerous upgrades in place, the new KTM RC390 is anticipated to be priced higher than the current model. The existing version is available at Rs. 3.21 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
KTM has been in the spotlight recently due to various developments, including the launch of its 390 Adventure range and financial challenges related to bankruptcy. Despite these issues, the Austrian manufacturer innovates with models like the RC390.
