KTM 390 Adventure R India Launch Expected In January 2026
Austrian brand KTM is all set to launch its new off-road-focused 390 Adventure R in India by January 2026. This motorcycle is for enthusiasts who seek more serious off-road capability. The bike is already on sale globally and is expected to make its India debut around January 2026.
KTM 390 AdventureR Changes
The KTM 390 Adventure R features a 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel, whereas the standard 390 Adventure comes with a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup. One of the biggest highlights is its 230 mm long-travel suspension. Ground clearance has also increased to 272 mm, compared to 232 mm on the standard model.
The seat height is now 870 mm, up from 830 mm. This taller stance improves the motorcycle's capability in extreme off-road conditions. The international-spec model features spoked wheels, 43 mm WP Apex USD front forks, along with a rear monoshock having rebound and damping adjustability.
Tech and Features
Tech features include Cornering MTC (Motorcycle Traction Control), Cornering ABS, Off-Road ABS, Cruise Control, multiple ride modes including Off-Road Mode, a 5-inch full-colour TFT display, USB Type-C port, LED lighting, KTM Connect, and a rally-style windshield. KTM Connect allows riders to access turn-by-turn navigation, manage calls, and control music.
Engine and Transmission
The KTM 390 Adventure R is powered by the same 399 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, producing 45.3 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 39 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm, paired with a 6-speed transmission. It continues to use a 14-litre fuel tank and is around 6 kg lighter than the standard 390 Adventure.
Pricing expectations
In India, KTM currently sells only the 390 Adventure and the Adventure X. The regular 390 Adventure is priced at 3.94 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Adventure X is priced at 3.26 lakh (ex-showroom). Since the 390 Adventure R is a more premium and hardcore off-road machine, it is expected to be priced higher than the regular models, likely between 4 lakh and 4.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
