KTM 390 Adventure Bookings Stopped: Upgraded Variant Coming Soon

The KTM 390 Adventure X, a more affordable variant of the standard KTM 390 Adventure, was introduced in 2023. Currently, bookings for this model are paused as an updated version is anticipated soon. The existing model is priced at Rs 2.91 lakh, while the top-spec 390 Adventure costs Rs 3.68 lakh. A significant difference between these models is the number of electronic rider aids available.

Enhanced Rider Aids for KTM 390 Adventure X

The current KTM 390 Adventure X includes features like offroad mode with offroad ABS. The updated version will offer a complete suite of electronic rider aids similar to those on the standard 390 Adventure. These enhancements include cornering ABS, traction control, and riding modes such as Rain, Street, and Off-road. These modes adjust power delivery and throttle response while modifying ABS and traction control settings.

Additionally, the new model will feature cruise control with dedicated switchgear. This function is beneficial for long-distance riders, allowing activation with a single button press. Users can adjust speed using specific buttons, and cruise control disengages automatically when braking or re-engages with throttle input.

Core Hardware Remains Unchanged

Despite receiving advanced electronic aids, the KTM 390 Adventure X retains its original hardware setup. It is powered by a 399cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine producing 45 PS and 39 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed transmission. The bike uses a steel trellis frame with non-adjustable WP Apex USD front forks measuring 43mm.

The rear suspension features a preload adjustable monoshock unit, whereas the standard 390 Adventure offers both preload and rebound adjustability. Braking components include disc brakes measuring 320 mm at the front and 240 mm at the rear. The bike rides on Apollo Tramplr dual-purpose tubeless tyres fitted on alloy wheels measuring 19 inches at the front and 17 inches at the rear.

Pricing Adjustments for Updated Model

The inclusion of premium electronic rider aids may lead to a price increase of approximately Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 for the updated KTM 390 Adventure X. Despite this hike, it remains around Rs 60,000 cheaper than the top-spec model. With enhanced electronics, it presents an improved package while continuing to compete against models like the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, which starts at Rs 2.85 lakh.
