KTM 390 Adventure and Adventure X Prices Increased

The popular KTM 390 Adventure and Adventure X motorcycles have become more costly following the government's revised GST rates. Under the new GST 2.0, the tax on two-wheelers with engine capacities above 350cc has increased from 31% to 40%, making these adventure bikes more expensive.

New GST 2.0

During the festival season, the government introduced the GST 2.0, slashing the tax rate on motorcycles with engine capacities below 350cc from 28% to 18%. However, bikes exceeding the 350cc mark faced a significant tax increase, with the GST rate rising to 40%. In response, Bajaj Auto was the first manufacturer to voice concerns over the revised tax structure. Bajaj Auto, KTM, and Triumph Motorcycles are selling 400cc bikes in India, and they all come under the new GST slab of 40%.

All these months, KTM maintained aggressive pricing and had record sales during the festival season. Now they have hiked the prices for their 390 adventure bikes. The prices have been increased by 27,000 and 22,000, respectively.

The KTM Adventure 390, which previously cost 3.68 lakhs (ex-showroom), now costs 3.98 lakhs (ex-showroom). The KTM Adventure X, which previously cost 3.04 lakhs (ex-showroom), now costs 3.26 lakhs (ex-showroom).

Despite the recent GST 2.0, the prices of the KTM 390 Duke and RC 390 remain unaffected for now. KTM is also gearing up to introduce the 390 Enduro in India, and once it is launched, we expect the other 390 bikes to get a price hike.

The price increase has widened the gap between the KTM 390 Adventure and its competitors, such as the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and Yezdi Adventure, as their prices remain unchanged. While the KTM 390 series is celebrated for its performance, features, and premium appeal, the increased price will definitely impact its sales.
