KTM 160 Duke Teased Ahead Of Imminent Launch - The New Orange Maniac For The Masses?
KTM India has hinted at the imminent launch of the 160 Duke through its social media platforms. The teaser image shared shows off the familiar Duke silhouette with the caption - "The streets are ready. Are You?".
The upcoming KTM 160 Duke is expected to be priced between Rs 1.75 lakh and Rs 1.8 lakh making it the most budget-friendly KTM motorcycle in India, replacing the discontinued KTM 125 Duke. The launch of the KTM 160 Duke is expected to occur within this month.

KTM 160 Duke: Expected Specifications & Features
The engine of the KTM 160 Duke will likely be a smaller version of the Duke 200's engine. It is anticipated that this new 160cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine will deliver power between 18-20bhp and torque ranging from 15-16Nm.
The underpinnings of the 160 Duke are expected to mirror those of the 200 Duke. It will likely feature a steel trellis frame and sub-frame, inverted fork, preload-adjustable monoshock with a wheel travel of 150mm, along with disc brakes measuring 300mm at the front and 230mm at the rear.
The bike will ride on 17-inch alloy wheels fitted with tubeless tyres; 110-section at the front and 150-section at the rear. Adjustable clutch and brake levers are also expected to be part of its offerings.
This upcoming KTM model will come equipped with all-LED lighting. The console might either be a colour TFT or an LCD screen offering Bluetooth connectivity. Additional features may include turn-by-turn navigation, music controls, and call/SMS alerts.
DriveSpark Thinks
The KTM 125 Duke was discontinued due to lacklustre sales and performance issues. The introduction of the Duke 160 aims to to rectify that by offering a better value for money motorcycles to customers if the pricing aligns with our expectations. The Duke 160 is just one of two models planned for this platform; a fully-faired KTM RC 160 is anticipated to arrive later in the year.
This new platform represents KTM's strategic response to Yamaha's successful MT-15 V2. If both performance metrics and pricing meet expectations, KTM could potentially have the start of a successful product in their lineup with the new 160 Duke.
