Variants & Price

The Kinetic DX is available in two versions: the standard DX and the upgraded DX+. Prices for the DX version is set at Rs 1.11 lakh, whereas the more kitted up DX+ variant is priced at Rs 1.17 lakh, both prices are in ex-showroom Pune.

Design

The new Kinetic DX maintains several design elements from its predecessor. It features a boxy silhouette similar to the original but includes modern touches like full-LED lighting and chunky 12-inch wheels. A flyscreen with an illuminated logo and metal body panels add to its contemporary look.

Features

In terms of tech, there's an 8.8-inch colour LCD display that mimics the original instrument cluster layout. The scooter also has a red 'READY’ starter button reminiscent of the old switchgear layout.

The scooter comes with three riding modes: Range, Power, and Turbo. It also includes hill-hold control, cruise control, and cruise lock for enhanced efficiency at lower speeds. A built-in speaker allows music playback with volume control.

Other notable features include keyless ignition via an 'Easy Key’ system requiring a password, a helpline call button on the switchgear, and Bluetooth connectivity for both variants. The top-tier DX+ variant adds app-based controls like vehicle location tracking and anti-theft alerts.

Powertrain, Range, & Charging

The Kinetic DX is powered by a hub-mounted motor with a peak output of 4.8kW, supported by a 2.6kWh LFP battery located in the floorboard. The standard DX claims an 80km range with a top speed of 102kph, while the DX+ offers a range of 116km and reaches speeds up to 90kph.

Charging times are efficient: reaching 50% in two hours, 80% in three hours, and full charge in four hours using an integrated charger stored within the glovebox. Additionally, If you maintain speeds between 25–30kph on flat roads using cruise lock, Kinetic suggests you might achieve up to 150km range in real-world conditions.

Other Details

The new Kinetic DX offers a seat length of 704mm, ground clearance of 165mm, and a wheelbase of 1314mm. Also, underseat storage is generous at 37 litres with additional hidden compartments for smaller items. A USB charging port under the seat provides extra convenience alongside Easy Flip technology that deploys pillion footpegs at the touch of a button.

DriveSpark Thinks

The Kinetic DX competes against models like TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Vida VX2, and Ather Rizta in India’s growing electric scooter market. That said, the revival of an iconic nameplate blends nostalgia with modern technology while offering competitive features at attractive price points within India's evolving electric vehicle landscape.
