Kawasaki Versys 1100 Launched In India At Rs 12.90 Lakh - The Big But Not Green Japanese Sports Tourer
Kawasaki India has launched the Versys 1100 sports tourer in the Indian market, with an asking price of Rs. 12.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The Kawasaki Versys 1100 features an upgraded engine, revised gearbox, a relaxed upright riding position, long-travel suspension, and comprehensive wind protection, making it perfect for those long continent-covering roadtrips.
The Versys 1100 sports a more potent engine, achieving an increase in power through various enhancements including a longer stroke, higher compression ratio, and modifications to the camshafts, intake ports, and airbox. These adjustments have elevated the Kawasaki Versysy 1100's engine power output from 118bhp to 133bhp, and boosted torque to 112.5Nm. Additionally, the motorcycle features revised gear ratios for its 6-speed gearbox with longer 5th and 6th gears to help it cross off the long miles with ease.
Despite mirroring the Versys 1000 in design, the Versys 1100 distinguishes itself with upgraded hardware. It boasts larger disc brakes for improved stopping power and a USB Type-C charging port for enhanced convenience. Kawasaki has also made available a variety of accessories including integrated panniers, a bidirectional quickshifter, protective gear, a taller windscreen, and a touring seat, allowing riders to customize the bike to their preference and enhance their touring capabilities.
Kawasaki dealerships across India have opened bookings for the Versys 1100, with deliveries expected to commence by the end of this month. This new Kawasaki Versys 1100 is not only priced quite a bit less than its predecessor, the Versys 1000, but it sits between rivals like the BMW F 900 XR priced at Rs 12.55 lakh and the Triumph Tiger 900 GT which costs Rs 13.95 lakh.
This move marks Kawasaki's robust strategy to strengthen its foothold in the sports tourer market segment in India, offering a blend of performance, comfort, and versatility to attract enthusiastic riders. The Versys 1100, with its competitive pricing and comprehensive feature set, is poised to become a favored option for motorcycle touring aficionados seeking a reliable and exhilarating machine for their adventures.
