150cc To 200cc Motorcycle Sales Report: This TVS Bike Leads!
India's motorcycle market is the largest globally, with fierce competition among manufacturers. The 150cc to 200cc segment is particularly significant. In March 2025, the top 15 models in this category sold a total of 1,47,205 units. This represents a slight year-on-year decline of 1.73% from March 2024's 1,49,800 units but shows a month-on-month growth of 9.19% from February's 1,34,819 units.
TVS Apache Leads the Pack
The TVS Apache topped the sales chart in March 2025 with 44,214 units sold, capturing a market share of 30.04%. This model experienced a significant year-on-year growth of 29.14%, up from last year's 34,237 units. Month-on-month growth was also notable at 16.49%, increasing from February's sales of 37,954 units.

Bajaj Pulsar and Honda Unicorn followed in second and third places with sales figures of 35,000 and 29,363 units respectively. Bajaj Pulsar saw a year-on-year increase of 19.56% and a month-on-month rise of 17.11%. Meanwhile, Honda Unicorn achieved an impressive year-on-year growth of 52.77% and a modest month-on-month increase of 1.49%.
Yamaha Models Face Challenges
Yamaha's FZ lineup secured fourth place with sales of 11,583 units in March 2025 but faced a year-on-year decline of 28.3%. However, it did see a month-on-month growth of 20.79%. Yamaha's MT-15 and R15 models also experienced year-on-year declines at rates of 5.17% and 34.4%, respectively.

KTM's lineup for the Duke and RC200 models sold a combined total of 2,572 units in March, placing them seventh on the list. These models saw a slight year-on-year decline of 4.92% but enjoyed a month-on-month increase of 10.10%. Hero MotoCorp’s Xtreme range came next with sales dropping by both year-on-year (20.29%) and month-on-month (14.62%).
Mixed Results for Other Brands
The Honda SP160 experienced a drastic drop in sales by over half compared to last year with only 1,365 units sold in March; however, it did see some recovery with a month-on-month growth rate of 22.2%. The Xpulse model showed strong performance with a year-on-year increase of approximately one-third but faced challenges on the monthly scale.
Suzuki Gixxer and Bajaj Avenger had similar sales numbers at around the mid-thousand mark but both registered declines compared to last year’s figures; however Avenger managed to achieve slight month-to-month improvement unlike Gixxer.
The Honda CB200X recorded sales figures at just above seven hundred while Hornet stood at five hundred forty-nine; Kawasaki W175 trailed behind significantly lower than others within this segment.
