India's Two-Wheeler Market Sees Mixed Performance In April 2025
India's two-wheeler market experienced a varied performance in April 2025, with some popular models seeing a decline in year-on-year sales. The total sales for the top 10 two-wheelers reached 9,59,598 units, marking an 8.07% decrease from the 10,43,813 units sold in April 2024.
Top Performers & Declines
Hero Splendor led the list with 1,97,893 units sold but faced a significant drop of 38.34% from last year's 3,20,959 units. Honda Activa followed closely in second place with sales of 1,94,787 units, also experiencing a notable decline of 25.17% compared to April 2024's figures.

In contrast to these declines, Honda Shine showed impressive growth. It secured the third position with sales increasing by 18.32% to reach 1,68,908 units from last year's 1,42,751 units. Bajaj Pulsar took fourth place with 1,24,012 units sold but saw a reduction of 14.36% from the previous year's sales of 1,44,809 units.
Scooters & Commuters
TVS Jupiter emerged as one of the standout performers by achieving a robust growth rate of 33.08%. It climbed to fifth place with sales reaching 1,02,588 units compared to last year's figure of 77,086 units. Suzuki Access followed in sixth place with a modest increase of 5.08%, selling 65,107 units over last year's total of 61,960.
TVS Apache maintained steady momentum in seventh place with sales slightly rising by just 0.25%, totaling at 45,633 units compared to April last year's figure of 45,520 units. However, TVS Raider experienced a decline of 15.79%, dropping to eighth position with sales decreasing to 43,028 units from last year's count of 51,098.
Shifts In Buyer Preferences
Hero HF Deluxe faced a steep decline in ninth place with its sales plummeting by an alarming rate of 57.09%. It recorded only 41,645 units sold compared to last year's figure of 97,048 units. Completing the top ten was TVS XL which saw a decrease of 7.58%, selling only 38,748 units compared to last year's total of 41,924.
While traditional commuter bikes like Splendor and HF Deluxe witnessed significant drops in sales figures this year; scooters such as Jupiter and Access along with premium commuters like Shine gained traction among buyers hinting at changing preferences within India's two-wheeler landscape.
