Honda Teases New Electric Motorcycle - Reveal Set For September 2
Honda has teased an upcoming electric motorcycle that bears a striking resemblance to the EV Fun Concept, previously unveiled at EICMA 2024. The teaser, released on Honda's UK social media platforms, showcases the upcoming electric motorcycle draped in camouflage.
The teaser for the upcoming Honda electric motorcycle, provides glimpses of the motorcycle's features, such as its TFT dashboard and a horizontal LED daytime running light, which mirrors the design of the EV Fun Concept. The teaser further discloses the bike's single-sided swingarm and its 17-inch wheels, wrapped in Pirelli Rosso 3 tyres, hinting at a high-performance electric vehicle (EV).

Honda's journey into electric motorcycles isn't new; the company has previously ventured into this space with the launch of the Honda E-VO in China. This model was a collaborative effort with Wuyang, a local brand. However, the motorcycle teased seems to be Honda's first independent project in the electric bike segment, marking a pivotal moment in the company's EV evolution.
The EV Fun Concept, as presented at EICMA last year, was touted to offer performance comparable to a 500cc motorcycle, setting expectations high for the production model's capabilities.
Expanding Honda's Electric Vision Globally
While the excitement builds around Honda's new electric motorcycle, an official launch in India might not happen in the near future. Honda is currently focusing on introducing electric scooters within the Indian market and is also working on electric version of the shine commuter motorcycle.
However, the company has ambitious plans for its global EV rollout, aiming to introduce 30 electric models by 2030. This strategy is part of Honda's broader goal to achieve carbon neutrality for all its products and operations by 2050, with a specific target for its motorcycle products set for the 2040s.

And while it doesn't seem to be on the cards, we do wish Honmda would bring this electric motorcycle to our shores.
