Honda CB750 Hornet Launched In India: Prices Start At Rs 8.60 Lakh
Honda's latest addition to their BigWing portfolio, the CB750 Hornet, is now available for purchase at Rs 8.60 lakh (ex-showroom, Gurugram), marking another significant step in the company's expansion of high-end motorcycles. This model shares the same 755cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine as the XL750 Transalp ADV, delivering a power output of 92hp at 9,500rpm and 75Nm of torque at 7,250rpm, making it a powerful option for enthusiasts.
The CB750 Hornet stands out with its advanced features, including a 5.0-inch TFT display that offers traction control, enhancing safety and performance. Riders can choose from four riding modes: Sport, Standard, Rain, and User, allowing for a customizable riding experience.
Additionally, the bike is equipped with a slipper clutch and all-LED lighting for improved visibility and control. An optional bidirectional quickshifter further elevates the riding experience, although it comes as an accessory.
When it comes to design and build, the CB750 Hornet doesn't disappoint. It boasts a robust suspension system, with a 41mm Showa telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear, ensuring a smooth ride. Braking is efficient and responsive, facilitated by twin 296mm discs with radially mounted calipers at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear.
The motorcycle rides on 17-inch wheels, fitted with Michelin Road 6 tyres that measure 120-section at the front and 160-section at the rear. Despite its powerful engine and sturdy build, the CB750 Hornet maintains a manageable seat height of 795mm and weighs 192kg when its 15.2-litre tank is full, although riders should be mindful of its 140mm ground clearance on uneven roads.
In the competitive landscape, the CB750 Hornet finds itself in a unique position within the Indian market, largely due to its distinct engine and class. Its closest rival is Honda's own CB650R, which, despite having a smaller 650cc engine, stands out with its four-cylinder configuration. This places the Hornet in a relatively competition-free space, offering an appealing option for those looking for a high-performance roadster.
