Honda CB125 Hornet Launched At Rs 1.12 Lakh - Bookings Open
Honda has launched the CB125 Hornet sporty commuter in India at an introductory price tag of Rs 1.12 lakh (ex-showroom, Gurugram). The Honda CB125 Hornet, the firm's first 125cc sporty commuter, was unveiled last month as it celebrated 25 years in India.
The Honda CB125 Hornet is powered by a 123.94cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine, which it shares with the SP 125 and Shine 125 motorcycles. However, in the Hornet, the engine has been fine-tuned to deliver an increased output of 11.1hp and 11.2Nm of torque, offering a slight advantage in power over its commuter cousins. This engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox.
The Honda CB125 Hornet sports a golden USD fork, a first in its segment, alongside a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. For braking, it employs a 240mm front disc brake with single-channel ABS and a drum brake at the back.
The CB125 Hornet rides on 17-inch wheels, equipped with 80/100-17 front and 110/80-17 rear tyres. Weighing in at 124kg, the CB125 Hornet is relatively light for its class, although it is heavier than the SP 125 by over 7kg and the Shine 125 by 11kg.
In terms of technology, the CB125 Hornet boasts a 4.2-inch TFT display, shared with the Hornet 2.0, featuring Bluetooth connectivity through Honda's RoadSync app. This app allows riders to access functions such as music playback, call and message notifications, and turn-by-turn navigation directly from the display. Additionally, the bike is equipped with full LED lighting, including a distinctively styled LED headlight, enhancing its modern appeal.
The CB125 Hornet is available in four colours: Red, Fluorescent Yellow, Blue, and Black, each paired with colour-matched alloy wheels for an extra touch of style. With its launch price of Rs 1.12 lakh, the Hornet 125 positions itself as a strong competitor against the likes of the TVS Raider 125, Hero Xtreme 125R, and Bajaj Pulsar N125 in the 125cc sporty commuter motorcycle segment.
