Honda CB1000 Hornet SP Launched In India: Prices Start At Rs 12.36 Lakh
The Honda CB1000 Hornet SP, the fourth release under the BigWing brand this week, is now available in India. Priced at Rs 12.36 lakh (ex-showroom, Gurugram), it offers a competitive edge by being more affordable than the Ducati Monster SP. This litre-class motorcycle features a 5.0-inch TFT display and five riding modes.
The CB1000 Hornet SP is powered by a robust 999cc inline-four engine. This engine delivers an impressive 157hp at 11,000rpm and 107Nm of torque at 9,000rpm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox and includes a bi-directional quickshifter for smoother gear transitions.
Suspension duties are managed by a Showa USD fork at the front and a fully-adjustable Ohlins monoshock at the rear. The braking system comprises twin 310mm discs with radially mounted Brembo Stylema calipers in the front and a single 240mm disc at the back.
The bike's TFT display mirrors that of the CB750 Hornet, offering smartphone connectivity for music, navigation, and call information. Safety features include five rider modes—Sport, Standard, Rain, and two custom settings—and three levels of traction control to enhance riding stability.
In terms of pricing, the Honda CB1000 Hornet SP stands out among its competitors. While its closest rival is the Suzuki Katana priced at Rs 13.61 lakh, it also competes with middleweight models like the Triumph Street Triple RS (Rs 11.81-12.07 lakh). Notably, it is more affordable than the Ducati Monster SP which costs Rs 15.95 lakh.
Honda has chosen to sell this model exclusively through its BigWing Topline dealer network across India. Deliveries for this high-spec bike are set to begin in June.
