Honda Activa-e Production Stopped: Will It Be Discontinued?
The Honda Activa's electric variant is facing despair as the brand has halted the production of the electric scooter since August 2025. Activa-e, along with the QC1, faces the risk of being discontinued due to slow sales in the indian electric market. The two scooters were launched in the Indian market in February 2025.
The ICE version of the Activa scooter is selling like hot cakes, but the EV version is still struggling. Honda has produced more than 11thousand units of the Activa-e and QC1 scooters, but only 5,201 scooters were sent to dealerships, and the remaining are unsold. Out of these, 86% sales came from the QC1, and only 740 activa-e scooters were sold.
Honda Activa-e Production Stopped

According to some new reports, Honda hasn't produced any new Activa electric scooter or the QC1 since August 2025. Though Honda hasn't disclosed any information, the main reason for this sudden pause is due to slow sales.
The QC1 is selling more because it has a low starting price and comes with a portable charger, and buyers can charge easily. It is also available in big cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune and Hyderabad.
But the Activa-e entirely depends on the Honda ecosystem, which requires a Honda swappable battery station. The availability of the Honda Activa electric is also limited to only a few cities.

Activa-e has a swappable 1.5 kWh battery, a 6.8 bhp motor, a 7-inch TFT screen, and Honda RoadSync connectivity. It is priced at 1.17 lakhs (ex-showroom). It can reach a top speed of 80km/h.
The QC1, which has a 1.5 kWh fixed battery, is priced at 90,022 (ex-showroom). It has a 5-inch LCD screen, 26-litre under-seat storage, and a 2.4 bhp motor. The QC1 can reach a top speed of 50km/h.
For this price, brands like Hero Vida, Ather, Ola, TVS, and Bajaj offer more value in their e-scooters. Most competitors provide manual charging options and deliver a higher range compared to the Activa-e's 102 km and the QC1's 80 km.
Honda needs to build its battery infrastructure before selling its electric scooters. The other option would be to manufacture electric scooters with regular fixed batteries and portable chargers.
