The Honda Activa e has been introduced at an ex-showroom price of ₹1.17 lakh. This electric scooter initially began its deliveries in major cities like Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai. Meanwhile, Suzuki's e-Access is anticipated to launch later this year. The Indian electric vehicle market has seen significant growth, largely due to the influx of new electric two-wheelers.

Electric Scooter Market Dynamics

Previously dominated by startups, the electric scooter segment now sees established brands like TVS and Bajaj competing fiercely. Recently, Honda and Suzuki have joined the fray with their respective models, the Activa e and e-Access. The Honda Activa e made its debut at Auto Expo 2025, while the Suzuki e-Access was also showcased during the event.

Honda's Activa e is built on the existing Activa platform, aiming to replicate its success in the electric segment. It features a design reminiscent of its popular predecessor and competes with other electric scooters equivalent to a 110 cc engine. In contrast, Suzuki's e-Access is developed on a new platform with distinct specifications.

Technical Specifications

The Suzuki e-Access includes telescopic forks at the front and swingarm-type suspension at the rear. It rides on 12-inch alloy wheels with a 90/90-section tyre in front and a 100/80-section tyre at the back. Its braking system comprises a front disc and rear drum configuration. The dimensions are 1,880 mm in length, 715 mm in width, and 1,140 mm in height with a wheelbase of 1,305 mm.

In terms of range, Honda's Activa e is equipped with two swappable batteries powering a motor rated for 5.6 bhp and peaking at 8 bhp. It offers three riding modes: Standard, Sport, and Econ. Honda claims it can cover up to 102 km on one charge.

Battery and Charging Details

Suzuki's e-Access uses a fixed 3.07 kWh LFP battery pack providing an IDC range of 95 km. It houses a motor delivering 4.1 kW (5.4 bhp) with maximum torque of 15 Nm and has a top speed capped at 71 kmph. Charging from zero to eighty percent takes about four hours and thirty minutes using a standard charger.

Features Comparison

Feature-wise, Suzuki's model boasts an all-LED lighting setup including LED DRL, combined braking system (CBS), remote fuel lid opener among others. It also provides twin front pockets along with ample underseat storage space measuring up to twenty-four point four litres.
