Honda 2-Wheeler Sales: 5.68 Lakh Units Sold In September 2025 As Exports Surge
Japanese two-wheeler giant Honda sold 5,68,164 units in September 2025, registering a 2.66 % YoY decline (15,469 units) over 5,83,633 units in September 2024. Honda's sales also increased in the month-on-month metrics, rising by 6.23 % (33,303 units) compared to August 2025's 5,34,861 units.
Domestic sales contributed 5,05,693 units, marking a 5.72 % YoY drop (30,698 units) from the 5,36,391 units sold last year. The export segment performed strongly with 62,471 units, up 32.24 % YoY (15,229 units) compared to 47,242 units in September 2024. Exports accounted for roughly 11 % of total monthly sales.

Looking at the quarterly performance (Q2 FY26, July-September 2025), Honda sold 16,18,403 units, reflecting a 3.69 % YoY growth (57,599 units) over 15,60,804 units in Q2 FY25. Honda's domestic sales in India reached 14,53,045 units, up 2.15 % YoY (30,888 units), while exports climbed 19.54 % YoY (27,028 units) to 1,65,358 units.
However, year-to-date (YTD FY26) sales showed a slight decline. Honda sold 29,91,024 units, down 3.94 % YoY (-1,22,572 units) from the 31,13,596 units sold last year. Domestic sales fell 5.54 % YoY (-1,57,199 units) to 26,79,507 units, while exports rose 12.51 % YoY (up 34,627 units) to 3,11,517 units.
Scooters and motorcycles together maintained a balanced portfolio, with scooters showing slightly faster growth rates, reflecting urban consumer preference for fuel-efficient, maneuverable vehicles. Domestic and export demand combined supported overall growth, offsetting declines in certain regions.
HMSI continues to strengthen its position in the two-wheeler market, with steady domestic sales and robust export performance. September 2025 numbers reflect consistent consumer interest across product lines, with scooters contributing to faster growth in metro and tier-2 cities.
