Hero MotoCorp Announces Significant Price Cut On Vida V2 Electric Scooters

In an effort to make its mark in the electric scooter segment, Hero MotoCorp, India's premier two-wheeler manufacturer, has announced significant price cuts to its Vida V2 range. This strategic move is set to make the Vida electric scooters much more accessible to consumers, with price reductions reaching up to Rs 15,000 across different variants. This adjustment in pricing is part of Hero's broader strategy to assert its dominance in the increasingly competitive electric vehicle market, where it faces stiff competition from brands like Ola Electric, Ather, TVS, and Bajaj.

The Vida V2 range, including the V2 Lite, V2 Plus, and V2 Pro models, has been restructured to offer better value. The entry-level V2 Lite now begins at Rs 74,000, showing a reduction of Rs 11,000 from its original price.

This immediate price adjustment is aimed at making the Vida V2 Lite variant more appealing to a wider audience. Moving up the range, the V2 Plus sees the most significant price drop of up to Rs 15,000. Conversely, the top-tier V2 Pro variant receives a price increase of Rs 4,700, now retailing at Rs 1,20,300 (ex-showroom).

Hero Vida V2: A Closer Look at Features

The Vida V2 Lite is equipped with a 2.2 kWh battery, boasting an impressive range of 94 km per charge according to the Indian Driving Cycle (IDC). Despite being the base model, the V2 Lite doesn't skimp on features. It includes a 7-inch TFT touchscreen with Bluetooth and navigation, cruise control, keyless ignition, and a generous 26L under-seat storage space.

As for the V2 Plus, it steps up the game with a 3.4 kWh battery pack capable of covering up to 143 km on a full charge. The premium V2 Pro variant elevates the experience further with a 3.9 kWh battery, delivering an estimated range of 165 km per charge and a robust motor that can accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in just 2.9 seconds.

Competition and Future Plans

Hero's Vida V2 lineup is positioned to rival the offerings from established players such as Ola's S1 range, Ather's 450 range, TVS' iQube range, and Bajaj's Chetak range. With the electric scooter market in India becoming more vibrant, Hero MotoCorp is not resting on its laurels. The company is gearing up to introduce the Vida Z in India, which is expected to be a global product. Spy shots of the Vida Z have already surfaced, indicating that its launch could be imminent.
