Hero Motocorp recently launched the Glamour X 125, a new version of its popular Glamour commuter motorcycle. The new Hero Glamour X 125 looks to bolster Hero's presence in the competitive 125cc segment in India.

The Hero Glamour X brings with it a host of tech features that put it directly in the sights of the tech king of the segment, the TVS Raider 125. Let's explore how these two sporty commuter motorcycles do against each other by pitting their spec sheets against each other.

Both bikes come equipped with a host of advanced tech. The Glamour X 125 is the first 125cc motorcycle in India to offer Cruise Control, a feature typically found in more expensive models, two to three segments above.

Additionally,the Glamour X 125 gets Advanced Electronic Ride Assist with Ride-by-Wire technology and a 4.2-inch LCD screen with smartphone connectivity with turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS alerts. Other features include a 'Panic Brake Alert' system, LED lighting and a USB Type C charging port.

The TVS Raider 125, also does not hold back on the features list. It features a more premium coloured TFT display with smartphone connectivity with turn-by-turn navigation with voice alerts, call and sms alerts, notification alerts, and ride alerts.

The Raider 125 also gets multiple riding modes - Eco and Power along with LED head and tail lights along with halogen indicators. It also gets a usb charging port situated on the fuel tank.

The Hero Glamour X is powered by a 124.7cc air-cooled engine that delivers 11.55 PS and 10.4 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox.

The Glamour X features three riding modes - Eco, Road and Power that changes the torque delivery. It also gets Hero's i3s stop-start system that helps with the fuel efficiency.

In contrast, the TVS Rider 125 has a slightly larger 124.8cc air/oil-cooled engine producing 11.38 PS and 11.75 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox.

The Raider 125 also gets riding modes - Eco and Power along with Integrated Starter Generator that helps with silent starts and gives a slight boost when accelerating. The bike also features GTT (Glide Through Traffic) tech that helps the bike crawl in stop-and-go traffic.

Both bikes feature telescopic forks for front suspension. However, the Glamour X features dual-shock absorbers at the rear, whereas the TVS Raider 125 utilises a gas-charged monoshock. Wheel sizes differ as well with the Glamour X sporting 18-inch wheels compared to the Raider's 17-inch ones.

When it comes to pricing, the Hero Glamour X starts at Rs. 89,999 ex-showroom, whereas the TVS Rider 125 begins at Rs. 99,999 ex-showroom. Both models offer drum brake and disc brake variants to cater to different preferences.

Both motorcycles come with feature-rich instrument consoles, but they suit different conditions. The Glamour's cruise control stands out, though it isn't always practical in rush-hour traffic. The Raider's electric boost and low-rpm crawl support work better in crowded city commutes, while the Glamour shows its strength on longer highway stretches.
